Product description

Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in the heart of the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation in the Rhône Valley, Domaine de Beaurenard is an eighth-generation family winery, now run by brothers Daniel and Frédéric Coulon and their sons. The estate boasts over 60 hectares of vineyards cultivated using certified organic and biodynamic methods. Le Boisrenard is a blend of the appellation's 13 varietals, selected from old vines grown according to biodynamic practices on the typical Châteauneuf soils (a mix of limestone, pebbles, clay, and sand with variable iron content). After careful selection in the vineyard and manual harvesting, the grapes ferment together, and the finished wine ages for a year in truncated cone-shaped vats, foudres, and barrels. In the glass, the wine reveals a dense and brilliant dark red color with purple highlights. Its aromatic profile is broad and complex, with initial notes of blackberry and wild berries, followed by hints of Mediterranean herbs, juniper, and licorice on a graphite background. On the palate, it is rich, concentrated, and generous. It has a full body and ripe tannins. It is smooth, fresh, and elegant, with a long, slightly spicy finish. It is excellent with game meat: try it with roast pigeon with potatoes, tagliatelle with pheasant sauce, or hare cacciatore.
